An act of arson, three suspects and one grandmother hiding the truth. The burning of the residential school cannot keep this matriarch from what she must do. It is the last day for former residential school students to either take compensation or opt out. Elder Patricia's memories reveal a surprise no one is prepared for.
The play both poignant and humourous takes us back and forth in time and place. Peeteetuce's play captures the realities experienced by one family and it's survival of Canada's residential school sytem. |
