From 1999 to 2008 SNTC ran an 8 month intensive theatre program for at risk youth called the Circle of Voices (COV) program.  Each year 10 to 15 youth worked together with cultural leaders and a professional playwright to collectively develop a one hour play.  The youth took full responsibility for each production by acting, stage managing, building sets, hanging lights, essentially learning all aspects of theatre in the development process.  After a production run in Saskatoon the youth toured their production to Reserve and remote communities throughout the province.  95% of the COV participants completed the program and received Grade 11 and 12 drama class credits in the process.  Not only did these youth gained valuable life skills and a stronger sense of cultural identity as First Nations and Métis people, many past COV participants went on to further their education and are now productive members of the community.

It is SNTC's primary goal to bring this important program back to the community in January 2013.  In doing so SNTC will honour the legacy of founding Board Member Gordon Tootoosis who wanted the company to continue its work with youth and anchor it traditional Aboriginal teachings and values.
